Eagle bags appeared in Russia in the late 1990s as a product of adapting Western brand strategies to regional markets. Polyethylene bags featuring foreign logos and inscriptions were perceived as symbols of quality. Eagle became a "Russian alternative," imitating the aesthetics of Western brands. The popularity of this design in Dagestan was predictable, as it references the fauna of the Caucasus, the heraldry and folklore of Dagestan.
