Pketar is a low culture accessories brand from Dagestan. We make bags, t-shirts and small objects using symbols, images and references from everyday life in the North Caucasus — Islamic culture, Soviet residue, local slang, aesthetics of markets and street signs.

The first drop — bags in the shaperof plastic carrier bags — was inspired by a shoot photographer Arina Alidarovna did for the Flat22 showroom, where the cellophane bags popular in Dagestan were used to collect sweets on Eid al-Fitr. The collection started as merch for a local media, then grew into a brand.

Initially, Pketar conducted a semantic study and documented bags seen on the streets as artifacts — each one reflecting distinct regional linguistic features. The creation of this brand is kind of the result of that research.
