Pketar is a low culture accessories brand from Dagestan. We make bags, t-shirts and small objects using symbols, images and references from everyday life in the North Caucasus — Islamic culture, Soviet residue, local slang, aesthetics of markets and street signs.

The first drop — bags shaped like plastic carrier bags — was inspired by an Eid al-Fitr campaign produced by the Flat22 showroom and photographed by Arina Alidarovna. The shoot featured cellophane bags, widely used in Dagestan, as containers for collecting sweets during the holiday. See the shoot on PapahaStories. The collection started as merchandise for a local media project and later grew into a brand.

Initially, Pketar conducted a semantic study and documented bags seen on the streets as artifacts — each one reflecting distinct regional linguistic features. The creation of this brand is kind of the result of that research.
